Real lurkers don't appear on the lurkers list.
Are older versions of Dink available anywhere?

No, 1.06 was the first freeware version. All the other versions still have the copyprotection on them I think...

Yup, any full version prior to 1.06 requires the original CD.

Yeah, I'm sure there are a lot of Torrents for the older, copyrighted versions of an obscure Indi game that's now entirely free.

Not the first thread where you post like you know what you're talking about when obviously you don't, it's misleading and potentially hurtful if the one asking the question assumes you do. I'm not trying to diss, advise and suggestions are cool but you should make it clear when you're not really sure about something...

Do you think I could nab NetHack through a torrent? I tried convincing Bill Gates to deliver it to me personally but he failed to show.

i dont quite get torrents...

if you download it, do you then upload little bits to give to other people, so that other people can then download a bit off you, and the rest off someone else?

is that what a 'seeder' is? what/who are leechers?

"if you download it, do you then upload little bits to give to other people, so that other people can then download a bit off you, and the rest off someone else?"

Correct.

Seeding = having the file and uploading it to others.

Leeching = downloading from others but not sharing a thing.

Well, there are also Peers, who both are downloading from others, but also uploading to others. Which is what you *should* be doing when you're downloading torrents.
