I don't know how others felt about the overall rankings, but I really liked them, and enjoyed seeing where everybody was. They were taken down, but I was wondering if we could have them back? They don't do any real harm unless people get silly and start thinking they mean something important, which they don't.

They are just a nice way to see how people rate when it comes to the DN generally...even if just in a poor, not perfect way.

well, I think he removed it because some people made stupid dmods and reviews only to get points...

I know, my dmod GUS is stupid too, but I didnt made it for points... So I dont remove it, Im proud of it... If I wasnt, I asked to move it to neglected or remove it

maybe they could add a message onto the email that tells whoever to make the dmod non-pointable, if you can comprehend what i mean by non-pointable

The Magic Formula didn't really signify anything, and yet people were placing value on it.

So Overall Rankings were abolished.

I will bring them back tonight though.

No, actually, this spurred the creation.

I believe this Overall Rankings formula is the most accurate yet... it has been fully implemented.

Well, I worked really hard on this new algorithm... from what I've understood, it most accuratly represents the overall rankings. Well, much better than the previous attempts at least.

Because it is a good 4-5 pages of printed text, consisting of about 9000 or so characters. Its really complex... it takes in account everything quantifiable about a user (number of reviews, number of comments, scores of files, number of hits per message on the board, and so much more), and spits out the result. Because the quantifiable aspects of the users will change greatly over the course of even a day, the results will reflect that change.

Hmm. I don't think people should be able to review their own files. It makes it easier for point whoring, to raise their score, if you're going to bring back the overall rankings. But that's just me. Ooh, and while I'm at it, I like the idea of having a gender symbol next to the person when he posts, you know, the blue and pink one, to see what sex that person is. Or maybe not. Everybody's male, almost. I'm out. I need mucus in my stomach. It burns. 'Night Dinklings.

Yeah, I also think reviewing one's own files should be done away with.

How about adding the score to the account of a user. Many aren't in that top 20 but knowing your own score would be nice, right?

I've always said that reviewing your own files is both sick and wrong!

For example. you do not get games publishers reviewing their own games do you? Or film creators reviewing their own films? It's always going to be biased.
