hmmm
I had been thinking.. (oh oh) and ehm... you see, from a 7.0, a game is rated 'good, but a 8.99 is also 'good'... that is a BIG difference you know.. maybe there should be a 'very good' or something?

Eh. Anybody should be able to figure out that 8.9 is very good, whereas 7.0 is sorta good and so on. Yeah, we could have 100 different rankings so there would be absolutely no discrepancies at all... but then it loses simplicity. 5 different rankings categories is ideal.

OMG!! yes, 100 different ones!!
and then you could have rankings for different network members, like sourceforge odes/used to...
they had a question, like "what are your PHP skills". the answers ranged from things like "i wrote the book",'the borg",'willing to learn'...
you could have a whole heap of really funny descriptions in there, which hardly anyone would ever see, unless their file got exactly teh right average...

Maybe you should go playing Seth's FQ game. The ranking has 100 (or 200, I forgot) different descriptions about your current ranking.
