I would like to ask some people what they would rather have a DS or a PSP. Oh and I dont care if you have both or whatever. Just pick one

As of two months ago I own a DS. I do not currently own a PSP nor do I have a strong desire to purchase one, though I'm certain I will eventually have one.

The PSP impresses with its flashy graphics and variety of features, but for me it mostly comes down to good games. And the DS has those in droves, whereas the PSP has very few titles worth owning (going by general consensus, mind you). I have about 12 DS games at the moment, but I've only committed time to Metroid Prime Pinball, Super Mario 64 DS, and Mario Kart DS. They're all quite good, and MKDS is highly, highly addictive.

I was never really able to "get into" handhelds very much before. The Game Boy I never owned until I was handed one for free two or three years ago, the Game Boy Color I played here and there, the Game Boy Advance I devoted a good chunk of time to every once in a while... but the DS, wow. I have played it a lot. I would recommend that anyone with about $180 to spare for a DS ($129.99), a game ($34.99, often less), and the sinister taxes that come with purchasing such things run out ASAP and get one. Yummy. But wait until June 11 (America, June 1 Aussies.. wtf?), when the spiffy DS Lite comes out. Slimmer, better battery, better lighting.

I have to agree with everything Tal said. I love my DS and am currently hooked on Brain Age & New Super Mario Bros. I recommend the DS to everyone.

Neither, I'm happy with what I have (GBA SP, SNES, Atari 2600, PSX).

What kind of name is "New Super Mario Bros"? I've seen a few preview movies and it looks fun, but the name is really bad. Nintendo...

I take personal offence in that statement. I love the Gamecube. Awesome games, yet Sonic games on like every new system. But some unique games for GC. The only system that you can play GBA or GBC games on it. Just need to spend like an extra $30. The N64 is unique because it's one of the first systems ever. SNES...(Something*) Nintendo Entertainment System...thats all I know about it. Old School ain't cool no more. The newer stuff is better.

I'd perfer the PSP . Awesome graphics and many other features, like movies...The DS sucks...really sucks.

ya just wait until i tell dinkmasta about this...he doesnt get on a whole lot...but anyways there are NO new games and for snes or n64 and they suck in graphics, gameplay, and...well it would take me a while to name all the bad things in a n64 and a snes...

Well Genis, I just like older gaming consoles. They often have the best games.
ROFL, SNES sucks? Away with ye! Ever played Secret of Mana, Finaly Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore?... These are some GREAT games. I care not about 3D!

Yeah, tsk... There's nothing like 8-bit and 16-bit games. The graphics are perhaps not realistic, but the gameplay on those games are yet to be surpassed by a "modern" game. Well, some come pretty close, but those are rare. And yes, gameplay is more important than graphics. Graphics have never ever made me buy a game.

Well, younger people generally put more weight on graphics. It's like kids who take a shiny coin over a piece of green paper: They don't know what's really important. ^^

Well, Green paper is okay, but I'd rather have Red paper.

Also, the brand new $10 bills have a bit of red on them.

i do like final fantasy but not 1 or 2 how about 10 or 12? i just plain HATE old game consoles...

It's funny, you often see those who grew up with particular systems claiming they are the best. DinkKiller, who is pretty young, has a boner for 5th and 6th Gen game consoles. I know there are a few styles of older games that I just can't play, such as text parser adventures, with mind bending EGA 16 color graphics.

Now, with that being said... I find his opinion indubitably lame, as well.

I love the good old snes rpgs, they rock. they are better then the more recent ones, I think that the FF series got bad after VIII

Yeah, I'd say they got bad after VII, I played a demo of VIII and didn't like it, so I just stopped playing them after that. The cost of maintaining a PC and the latest consoles was more than I could afford, so I stuck with the PC. I have been very pleased with my choice ever since.

A friend of mine said X was decent, if very linear. He loves XI, which is pretty much an FF in name only.

Going slightly OT here, but I'll join in still.

VII is my favorite, but I also like IX, X and X-2. On the other side, I like III and V.

In conclusion, I've only really disliked VIII of the newer ones.

I like FF 4 5 6, and 8 and 9 to a lesser extent. So yeah, I would be more the SNESer.

And Genis, FF1 and 2 were for the NES, which is quite a bit less good than the SNES. I don't like FF1 and 2. Still, there are even good games for the NES, like Super Mario Bros and Mother.

Personally i think the older retro games are awsome.
I don't care that much about the graphics or gameplay but nowadays the new games are way to EASY or to CHALLENGING I like retro games because not only are they awsome but also all the games for SNES or N64 ect. They are just at the right difficulty.

Very funny you guys. What I meant by Mr. Striker...your mean... is that he was being jerk-like. I guess I should have typed "you mean" instead of with the "r". Then it might have not been so confusing.
