Two new options have been added to Change Preferences.

* Time Zone Support. Display the times of all messages in relation to your local time. The default is PST, and Gamespy's servers seem to be off by about 10 minutes or so.

* 24 Hour/AM-PM Support. Now you can choose whether to display the time in 24 hour format(default) or in 12 hour AM-PM format.

If you experience any problems with this or any suggestions, let me know. I'm currently working on a couple of the non-threaded format 'problems' (message order and the 'new' icon).

Oh, and I fixed a problem (I think) where Less-Than and Greater-Than icons wouldn't show up correctly... lets see:

< >

Also, &current_sprite will display as &current_sprite, and not that funky character then t_sprite.

One bad thing I've found is using sp_x with parenthesis will result in an angry smiley. I'm working on a solution.

How about a 'disble simley's in this post' option when you post?

Another possible addition for the non-threaded outline is to add another column to show who posts the last reply on that thread. That might make the non-threaded one even better.

Or have the number in the replies column turn to yellow so you know there has been a new post. Unless you can memorize the numbers of each post and know when a new post was made. Or maybe the new icon could return by the thread whenever a new post was made to that thread. I don't know. I'm still trying to get used to this....

ok, im not sure i get this time stuff... i changed the time in the preferences to the closest time tot he time here, in New Zealand, but now all the times on the forum ate things like 12:08 AM, but that time hasn't been yet!! the difference betweent he forum timezone and the actual time here isn't enough to account for that, so what exactly does that time field show??

also, i have some suggestions to the forum, which shouldn't be too hard to impliment:

1.- change the smilie table at the bottom so we dont have to scroll down to see the submit button. i know, im lazy, but how about having another submit button to the left of the textarea box?? or move it there??

2.- put a "reply to this mesage" on every message on the thread, in non-threaded mode. its really annoying having to scroll to the top of the page, esp. after having read a LONG thread (they will come, trust me )

3.- (this is not really so important, and may allready be available):

make it so that if the therad is three messages long, like so:

--msg1

--msg2

--msg3

and i reply to msg2 (once the above is implimented), my post appears between msg2 and msg3:

--msg1

--msg2

---mypost

--msg3

then, if someone replies to my post, it appears just after mine. if someone replies to msg1, it would appear just after msg1, and mefore msg2. this is really usefull, because it allows you to insert your thoughts/comments at the right place in the que!! (ahhh Q...)

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. All the times on the board are changed when you choose your timezone in the preferences... the time field should show the current time, and then will automatically offset the time for every message on the board... if you still have problems, let me know.

Sure, sure.

Yeah, I thought of moving the smiley box somewhere else too. I probably will.

I've thought about it... but non-threaded mode isn't a priority, since I always use threaded It will be added eventually.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The non-threaded messages will change order (eventually), even if it is only by date and not in order of the 'thread'. I just need to think of a good way to code it...

Some suggestions for ya redink

first off, sorry if this is typed bad, i'm on a whore-ible keyboard...the a and shift and t suck bad...anywy...dammit! .. ok...

For threaded, when you have all the responses all on the same page, you should be able to reply to any one of the messages, just like in non-theaded...i dunno, just a reply box over each of the differnt responses...then maybe it brings you to a screen with your text box...but it would be nice if it included the one you were replying to above or below it...

Also adding a litle tree at the bottom, like non-threaded...just so you can see what is actually replying to what..or just some way to clerify order..because when people talk to each other using the different settings, it can get a bit confusing...

But ya..i really prefer threaded..and modern is great
