How can you call Darkspace a graphicly better D-Mod than SOB? From what I've seen, its not really a D-Mod, just a few screens with nice graphics. If it was finished, that may be true...no offense to Eldron. SOB (and soon PQ) are finished, completable epics with awesome gfx. If and when a version of Darkspace is finished, than comparisons can be made.

I think SimonK said it would be released on Friday, Nov. 1st. BUT, Please, SimonK release it Thursday. Otherwise nobody will release anything in November. OK?

Is DD better than SOB graphically? Who cares?

SOB came out 2 years ago... and it was a complete and playable DMOD. It won the first Download of the Year. Beating LOT and QDII and all the other great dmods that came out that year.

DD came out a couple of days ago. It has very good graphics and 2 very good pieces of music... but it's not playable as a DMOD. Will it win download of the year? I don't think so.

Nov 1 folks... (But that's Nov 1 Sydney time which is actually Oct 31 your time... so maybe I leave Nov free for those that like DOTM... maybe )

well, It isn't a dmod, it's just how I left it, I had mainly been working on the graphics.. SOB was a dmod with new graphics.. Darkspace was going to be a total-conversion dmod.. However, darkspace has rather ugly graphics now when I think of it.. If I got the idea to make a new dmod now, with new graphics from scratch, then oh my god, would it scare you all..

according to the industry-standard graphical quality, none of the dmods I have seen are more than average quality, poor modelling, bad choice of graphics.. mixed styles.. Darkspace and even the original dink is included in all of these..

But then again, the industry artists have ages of experience behind them, they can conceptualize and model a character with extreme care, and they know what industry-standard graphics quality is.. they notice the smallest flaw..

I dont think I'll ever see anything of such high standard with the dink engine.. since an experienced artist will notice that there is no worth in putting work into a dmod, only lots and lots of pain..

Now I'll sit here quietly and await the next moddable game from rtsoft..

imagine all the awesome things I could do in three dimensions with billions of colors..

really, I'd like to do some real quality stuff, but I can't now.. sorry.. thats why I gave up darkspace..
