New Dev Graphics: Elemental Swords
Bruce Harrison has released the greatest graphics pack I've ever seen. His Elemental Swords pack contains three sword attack animations (for fire, lightning, and ice) with simple jaw-dropping results.

WOW! Extremely nice Bruce! I thought you had given up on Dink graphics but this proves you're back and better than ever!

Well done. I really like the last one. Not sure about the other two with the fact the effect stays on the hit position, rather than travelling back up with the sword, dying out as it does so.
I was thinking about doing it the way you are talking about (making the after effect move with the sword) but that meant either creating graphics for every possible movement that dink could do after a swing or extending the actual swing animation which would make Dink more vulnerable to counter attacks . The way I did it you could leave the after effect out (it is a seperate animation) or use the after effect as a second hit making the weapon even more affective .
i really like how the lightning one does stay like that, it looks cool. but to be honest, i think these graphics look like a cartoon and dont fit with dink. the lightning one i think i might use because it looks more "shocking" and magical, but i dont know about the others.
I think this is probably the best new weapon(s) pack i have ever see for dink, and i like the way the effect stays as well, and the fact that it does additional damage is also cool, i think i'll try and use these in my next mod.
I don't like the fire animation because it doesn't fit with the original Dink-fire.
I meant within the actual hit animation, the sword glow retracts and dies down (or maybe it already does) there is usually one frame after the hit frame (set_frame_special) which you would do this to. So I frame for each direction means only 4 frames of work.
But hey maybe you've done this already, and it gets lost in the animation because it is only one frame, I'll have a look and see

I don't know much about Dink development besides graphics . If I understand what you just wrote you are saying that Dink has one extra frame after the six in his swing animation , kind of like a recoil frame after the hit frame . If that makes seven total frames then I have a little more work to do . Also if I missed one frame I am assuming that the extra frame is the 5th frame being replayed after the hit frame . Let me know and I can probably fix it .
These graphics are very cool indeed. In fact, they are bleeding brilliant. I do think they would be even better by having the fire sword having flames licking around it even when it's not attacking, but these are so good, it doesn't make much odds.
Great work!
Great work!
I thought they were all very neat, maybe the lightning-one looking coolest. Someone complained about them being too drawn, but I liked that as well, makes it clear they're magical.
