did this headphone thing ever happen to you?
I don't know how or when this happened but my headphone's microphone records the computer's sound. Like, instead of recording the outside sound, it records the computer's sounds. Like in bandicam or fraps. When I plug it in, It records the computer's sound. And it doesn't show up in the sound options(that list with recording devices and playback devices). How do I change this?
A virgin sacrifice and a libation of cookies and mead for the elder gods.
are you using audacity?
Nope, can't say that's every happened to me before. Though, there was one time where my headphones actually exploded. Luckily my ears were blown clean off so I was able to put them on ice and the surgeons at the nearest hospital were able to reattach them. There somehow ended up being no scarring or loss of hearing. The doctor's said it was the most amazing thing they had ever seen. My thing is essentially the same as your thing right?
His sounds slightly more painful.
i swear I won't post a thread where I ask for your help ever again : ))
What program are you using, if any? Also is it in the right port(s)?
As a last stand effort you could go with the golden line, "Have you Tried turning it off & then back on?" or as some 'better' forums would suggest, "Try holding the ctrl, alt, and the delete key, it totally works, bro". I can't say both of these quotes are credible though.

It's probably defaulting the recording device to stereo mix rather than your microphone, which is in fact the system audio. Open recording devices and see if your microphone is in there, if not make sure it's not disabled and invisible - Right click anywhere in the list of recording devices and make sure 'show disabled devices' and 'show disconnected devices' are both ticked, once they are ticked if you see your microphone come up in the list, right click on it and enable it.
If none of the above works than I'm out of ideas.

Did you recently upgrade to windows 10? I googled 'microphone problems with windows 10' and a bunch of stuff came up that indicates some people having issues with it.
Aww, Microsoft's cute little programmers are still releasing software with millions of bugs and still expect to be paid hundreds for it.
I think I'll pop in over at their headquarters and give them some lollipops. They do such great things.

...Do you really think i'm THAT stupid?

Do you live with parents or relatives that would upgrade to Windows 10?

I hope not. The amount of people I've seen that have upgraded and 'love it' is very disappointing.

Have fairies or gnomes been coming into your house at night and doing a barrage of things like tying up headphones & cobbling shoes, if so they might have done it. Also it could have been Skurn when he broke into your house one night to move everything just an 5 millimeters to the right.
I don't care anymore. I have some in-ear headphones that work perfectly. Too bad I don't have a microphone anymore
