Re: N64 vs PS1
Which one do you think is better and why
As far as I'm concerned, the Playsstation had the better library, but I can't say I'd fully known due to the fact that the Playstation was my first home console and the only N64 game I own right now is Superman.
I didn't have either of those so I wouldn't know. I do know that I never did get used to the N64 controller. I just couldn't figure out how to hold properly.
I've found to basically treat it as two controllers - if the game requires the middle stick, pretend the left side doesn't exist.
PS1. Better library. The N64 had some great games, though.
How about the Saturn? There's some real classics there, but it's too bad they're so expensive.

I'VE BEEN DOING IT WRONG MY WHOLE LIFE.

I find the N64 controller to be quite cool. People might consider it kinda unusual, but there is no real standard for game controllers.
When you think about it, Nintendo tends to be quite original. The NES and SNES controllers were quite different from each other.
N64 and Gamecube controllers were very different from any controller before them (as far as I know). The same can probably be said about Wiimote.

This.

PS1, due to the menagerie of games that you can find for it.
Both are the best but PS1s controller is superior imo.
i love the n64 because earthbound 64...wait nvm it wasn't made , ps1 had some pretty awesome wrestling games and metal gear solid and grand turismo racing . my vote goes to ps1
I love the idea of the N64-contoller, how it can be two different controllers depending of what the game requires... It's brilliant!
I'm an RPG lover, so that basically rules out the N64 xD I did own one though, but really only played Mario Kart and Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars) on it.
The PS1 gave me many, many good gaming years

I never owned the ps1 and I had some good games for the 64, but banjo alone takes my vote.
Edit, does anyone know if the 64 was initially sensitive to someone jumping in the house or what

What happens if I say yes to the dumb question?
PS1 was also the choice for me, although I did enjoy a few games on the N64, but PS1 was better.

Superman 64? It's a hilariously broken game, but awful to be the only game you own for the console.
There are a ton of good games for both consoles, but I have to agree with most here that the PS1 has the edge for me. N64 is full of a lot of "fun" titles but other than some exceptions such as Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time there wasn't quite as many titles that pushed the bar like the PS1 games did.
And yeah, I have never liked the N64 controller. It's so much easier for me to play the Gamecube version of Ocarina of Time than the N64 one simply because I'm more comfortable with the controller. Interestingly enough, I think the Gamecube controller might be my favorite controller so far, despite not being a huge fan of the console itself (though it also has some games worth playing).

I demand you name one game for the ps1 that's better then banjo and quest 64.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an excellent game.
Then there's Persona, Parasite Eve, and so far Chrono Cross.

3 more, also I swear there was a castlevania game for the 64.
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Blood Omen, Breath of Fire three and five, Broken Sword, and Clock Tower.
And yes, there's Castlevania 64, and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness which is one of my favorites because it has a werewolf protagonist that is pretty badass. (LoD is an expanded re-release of the former)

You stole my breath when you said Breath of fire, there more than 2!?
