The DDC clock
It finally arrived here, along with a nice note from Christiaan. But unfortunately it was broken. Might have to take it to a watchmaker for repair.
Awesome
Too bad it was broken, but still, 'tis there and can be fixed.
Oh, that would be hilarious.
Watchmaker: "What's with the picture?"
"Oh, nothing, just a little cult worshiping a dead dragon carcass."
"...OK."

Man, that sucks. I wouldn't want to be whoever man-handled that package; that's a 70-year-curse for incurring the wrath of Dead Dragon Carcass. When he finds dead squirrels hung from their tails on his window shutters, he has only himself to blame.
Broken? dangit. It worked when I sent it. What's broken about it, doesn't it run with an AA battery in it?
The part in the back where the battery goes, and which you use to rotate the hands (don't know what that part of a clock is called) was very loose, but I managed to press it back into place. Then it was a struggle to get the battery in, and when I finally did, the hands just went back and forward, as if the battery had run out. But that isn't the case, since I tried multiple batteries and each of them worked on my other clock.
broken on delivery that sucks well enjoy it when it is repaired and hope i win such a giveaway sometime(currently plotting a new DDC oriented fic )
Too bad. Hope it works out, Skull. At least it's an awesome Dinkish item of awesome.
That part is usually easily replaceable, you can buy it (with or without clock hands) and just fit it into the same clock face. Try online, eBay or somewhere.
Just thought I should let you guys know that I did get the clock working eventually, and it's been proudly hanging on my wall for some months now. Turns out poor DDC and his cult most likely had a somewhat rough trip, and the clock's machinery got loose. So even when I got the machinery back in place, it had pulled the hands and made them too tight, unable to move. So I opened the clock and loosened them a bit, and now it's working like a charm!
the word clock looks kind of like the word dock.
I have never thought of that before!
What would a word dock look like
Hey Dack, can I call you clackfight?
