Dink installs to
c:\Program Files (x86)\Dink Smallwood
not under program files like the older versions of windows.

I had to put wde+2 under the same directory then open it with the executable (new wde+2 doesnt save that info in DFArc so u have to open domds (to edit) with the wde+2 executable if u wanna use that one. Otherwise open WDE and associate it to the previous WDE version - it will save that setting)Then you can use it from dfarc

You need to kill the authorisation issues that they built into win 7 - they think we are a bunch of wallies that dont know how to do stuff so they took the POWA off us.

so... Pinched from here...
How to Take Ownership in Windows 7
1. Locate the file or folder on which you want to take ownership in windows explorer
2. Right click on file or folder and select “Properties” from Context Menu
3. Click on Security tab
4. Click on “Advance”
5. Now click on Owner tab in Advance Security Settings for User windows
6. Click on Edit Button and select user from given Change Owner to list if user or group is not in given list then click on other users or groups. Enter name of user/group and click ok.
7. Now select User/group and click apply and ok. (Check “Replace owner on sub containers and objects” if you have files and folder within selected folder)
8. Click ok when Windows Security Prompt is displayed
9. Now Owner name must have changed.
10. Now click Ok to exist from Properties windows
Once you have taken the ownership of file or folder next part comes is Granting Permissions to that file/folder or object.

How to Grant Permissions in Windows 7
1. Locate the file or folder on which you want to take ownership in windows explorer
2. Right click on file or folder and select “Properties” from Context Menu
3. Click on Edit button in Properties windows Click ok to confirm UAC elevation request.
4. Select user/group from permission windows or click add to add other user or group.
5. Now under Permission section check the rights which you want to grant i.e check “Full Control” under the “Allow” column to assign full access rights control permissions to Administrators group.
6. Click Ok for changes to take effect and click ok final ok to exit from Properties window.
Now you can access files of folder in windows 7 with full permissions and take full control.

Or pictorials as an alternative choice

Hope that helps?

It possibly depends on what version of Windows 7 you are running (32-bit or 64-bit), or whether you installed Windows 7 via upgrading or as a fresh install. I'm running Windows 7 32-bit installed via fresh install, and all the new files/folders that dink.exe or DfArc write in "dink smallwood" folder are redirected to C:\Users\Your Windows Account\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\. As for "Program Files (x86)", I don't even have it on C:\, and it seems like this folder is present only in 64-bit version of Windows 7.

So, you can now play without admin rights (unlike in XP, where you were forced to play as admin and to me it was very inconvenient) and each user gets each own set of d-mods, saves and so on.

64 bit, pre-installed.

Anyway, yep they are there thanks
Tried that path directly before but couldn't get there cos it's with the "(x86)" on mine...

None of your suggestions seem to help MsDink, at least I don't notice any difference regards D-Mods showing up in the main folder. How do I edit them easily now? WDE+2 in the main folder can't see the D-Mods in the other one.

aw sorry sparrow heh dang you must have a different version/setup on a laptop to a pc.

Would be great if WDE2+ allowed you to search for the directory where u install dmods.

Hmm...I have WDE+2 on my desktop and my D-Mods in the Dink folder and it can read them fine. When you go to "Open" in WDE what does it say? Try running dink.exe to make sure it knows where to look. Same with DFArc.

dfarc doesn't save the path to wde2+ and you have to re tell it every time - it seems to be made to work on its own without dfarc (which is why being able to select different directory's to find dmods would be good)
