You need:

A PS2.
PS2linux *buy it or pirate it*
Dink Smallwood for GNU/Linux by Beuc
Blank CD-ROM or HDD that comes with PS2 Linux if you buy it.
IMGburn.

Steps:

1. Install PS2linux on your ps2.
2. Burn Dink for Linux to a CD-R using IMGburn at 12x speed.
3. Put it in!
4. Play!

Dink for PSOne, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox and Xbox360 is a fact! Maybe even Gamecube.

I think the only black humour to be gleaned from this thread is in the fact that a humourless guy is accusing everyone else of lacking a sense of humour... But mostly it's just absurd, pitiable, ironic and pointless, and not all that comic.

Maybe some of your jokes are genuinely funny and some aren't, and those are the ones that get mistaken for insults.

Insults and black humor are different things. If I say "duck you" in a certain situations, it can be counted as black humor. If I say it in completely another situation, it is an insult. Now, cause you're Dinkers, or at least claim to be, I believe you should recognize when a person is joking or insulting someone.

This all boils down to smeone needing a better understanding of english before he starts to abuse it - black humour is not being a rude sod, no matter how you look at it.

Everybody who is a true Dinker remembers this thread. See, even in such a serious thread, most of the posts had black comedy in them. Even the first post, by Kory, originally, was mostly black humor. Which obviously some people didn't get and were all into flaming at once.

We need people who can actually take a joke in here. Currently we don't have any of those people, which makes the old days better, when they should be equal.

Anyway, perhaps some of the confusion is coming from translation problems? The type of humour Skull is referring to might be called black humour in Finnish. It certainly isn't in English... at least not in England

I still do feel like this website is lacking its old humour a bit, although I think it's made somewhat of a comeback as of recent. Maybe seeing some old Dinkers return and Cocomonkey's articles kick some life into the community put people here in a more positive mood, making them not take everything so seriously.

After all, this is a community based around a game that consists of killing little girls, domestic violence, hating and making fun of anybody who's different, and abusing animals in front of the elderly, sparking them to ruin your life forever. How could this community not accept dark comedy?

Killing a little girl happens once and is optional, the domestic violence was a one time thing and you can solve it, abusing animals in front of the elderly is super optional since you have to send Quackers back home first and then punch him, and Ethel had nothing to do with the fire since her dialogue doesn't hint to it if you don't kill the duck.

So, nah. It's not about any of that. I'd say you were just being a class mega douche in this thread.

Ok then. Their choice. But they probably shouldn't be surprised when they see dark comedy used by somebody in the community. I was pissed about it back then cause during those times it appeared you couldn't even make a joke about beheading ducks without people flipping their shit. Especially when it came to people who had always let it loose here but suddenly acted like Mother Teresa. Thankfully, those times seem to be over and you can at least make some jokes here again.

And let's face it, this site was a hellhole during that time. The tension was high constantly and everybody was throwing crap at each other and the community in general, every day for one reason or another. Sometimes ridiculous, sometimes reasonable. If it wasn't me, it was somebody else. Even some staff members were throwing tantrums at times lol (excluding Sparrow; he handled it like a champ ). I guess we were all just very tired of this community for a number of reasons, ironically, mostly thanks to our own behaviour. And I certainly hope we have all matured enough not to repeat the same mistakes and go back to similar times again.

I've already admitted to being a spammy piece of shit and have necro'd some old threads pointing out my dumb shit.

I think I've done that ages ago. I've admitted many times that I've acted dumb here in the past, and will probably sometimes in the future too, because that's just the kinda person I am. But even if I do, I only do it because I firmly wish the best for this community, even if my actions don't always end up benefitting it. Don't say I'm "finally admitting it". I've matured up ages ago and said this many times, but whenever I have, you have always turned a blind eye at it and blamed me for being an attention-whore. I truly don't feel there's any single person to blame for those bad times. Things culminated and we were all collectively to blame for making this site a crappy place for ourselves. This is what I've been saying pretty much since the whole thing began. But being dumb and frustrated, I still took part in the bickering back then.

So in short: Yes, I've admitted my "wrongdoings" a long time ago, but I'm not gonna take all the blame for every bad thing that ever happened here. I was certainly a part, but only a part. Not to mention, the only "active troublemaker" who still created positive community content throughout it all, and the one to leave the flame-game, while others continued to flame and spam.

And in even shorter: Let's forget about the past, leave this conversation right here and just move on.
