alien life
Just watching a programe on tv about alien life. What do you think guys? theres got to be hasnt there?
I really hope i live long enough to find out!
Nope - not unless they all lead a secret squirrel existence - we been here for a few thousand years now and they're not commonplace - if there was aliens (little green men with big eyes and polka dots who traverse the universe and experiment on humans) well... they woulda called in for a coffee by now dontcha think? As to other kinds of life forms - who knows - but aliens? hmm..
(hides from Skull)...

Just heard a great comment ms "sometimes i think we are alone, sometime i think were not. Either way the implications are staggering!"
By the way ms dink, Great bed graphics! do ya mind if i nick em? lol
Well with you (they would have visited by now) ms dink many people belive they have seen spaceships and how do we knowe they havent met us before in medeval ages or something
and some egyptian paintings show people bowing at strange beings
mayb there is ALIENS
pretty epic if there waere aliens from the alien series like the ones that come out of stomachs and stuff

You can nick anything I make Thor - tis all there for the nabbing If u get stuck using them gimme a yell (takes maybe all of 10 secs to make a bed)and I can do it for you.
@Sambo - err that's a movie my pet *pats rabbit* I just recon those people bowing etc have stuff on their shoes and were trying to dislodge it (or are on magic mushrooms heh)
... and so it begins........

Well there is about 1,000,000,000 planets existing
(not exxagerating just in all the other galaxys)
so there probably are aliens that fit his description but now that i think about it they probbly arent going to visit us any time soon. probably cuz of the 1,000,000 light years to trave
maybe they could use worm holes....

hmm so someone has been out there and had a look that there is that many out there?? Nup I dont believe you
Edit: Dang I am a *stirring* cow heh heh heh *laffs maniacally* !!

well they got telescopes and stuff...i think
on a nicer not ms.Dink would you like to join my Beta crew for my new d-mod?

Anyone here studied physics? If i put an equasion up will it get lost? lol But we have all created life! We created DINK!
actually thats a bad question, your all more inteligent than me anyway! lol

Put it up Thor - I wanna see what you have hehe and can't at the mo thanks sambo - busy few weeks coming up at work
lol ms ghostly I studdied as an engineeer and part of that was probbibility theory which is just like programing! lol EG 1 or zero, one being an absolute yes and zero being an absolute no .If you really look in to it youu wwill see its a one every time!

probbibility theory ??
Hmm.. spelling wasn't your strong suit then hmm? *dies laffin*
Oi!! I am supposed to be the typo goddess here - quit making a bid for my crown! geesh

oohh your a harsh one msghosty! lol
Well i believe there are other inhabited planets out there. what i always see is people assuming they're further with their technology but who's actually says they are for all we know they could be still living in their caves or barely developed their own tools.
Not all of them without a doubt have visited us. Why would they have, if we haven't been able to visit them yet? The fact is, there is, or at least has been, life somewhere in space, it has been proven without a shadow of a doubt. Most of them are smart enough to stay away though, because of our ridiculously high gas prices!!
MsDink, stop being a coward. Sceptics are sceptical until they have no way of explaining something. Because they are afraid they might be wrong, they either ignore the conversation or just try to make jokes out of it. Just what you are doing right now. The same thing has been happening lately in news, with all these massive bird deaths.

Ok then Skull - you let em know theres tea and scones if they wanna show themselves ok
What I see in this thread are two different questions being asked. Firstly whether or not there is life outside the earth's immediate vicinity. And secondly whether or not there has been intelligent alien life visiting us.
The answer on the first question ranges from almost certain to completely impossible depending on who you ask. This is because we're basically doing a wild guess and then analyze it. There's nothing wrong with analysis by itself, but without proper statistics we just need to guess how likely life is to have evolved. Equations such as the Drake equation aren't really that useful since you'll have to guess most parameters. Personally I'm somewhere in between, there could be extraterrestrial life, there could be not. It wouldn't really make a difference to me anyway, I don't see why the risk of getting annihilated by aliens is much greater now than it was, say a thousand years ago. And it doesn't help me with the ladies either.

There has been and will be no visitations were just not worth it!
Fermes papadox have a look.

surley there is life more evolved then us on at least one planter.
and they could easily travel through wormholes to reach us if they were advanced enough.

Prove it! Who was the person that counted all those supposed planets? and has anyone ever been through a wormhole to prove they exist - or do we have a pile of assumptions of what could possibly be how they work... come on... I need facts people... not conjecture
Anyways Numbers are evil!! I H A T E N U M B E R S *faints*

Well with a whole ton of physics and numbers they have proven the diameters of some galaxys and the conjuction inbetween so yes there is proof.
just to complicated for some people(1-1,000,000) to understand.

No- I need real proof - someone has to have been there and seen it first hand Or it doesn't count!
I do however notice that no-one has removed the 'Phooey' from the title *smirks*

Wait. Are you implying that aliens did that?

I am an alien!! Do as I say!
If I say 2+2=4, I don't need to show you an example of it for you to believe it. Just because someone hasn't seen every planet, doesn't mean they don't exist. Another example, before Columbus "discovered" *cough* America, nobody from where he came from had seen such a place, but it still existed, didn't it?
Not quite the same there fireball, assuming something out where noone has ever been or seen is an assumption - which may be based on something worth basing it on but tis an assumption never the less. Indesputable really.
Oh and I am not so sure america actually exists either sorry, there has always been a lot of "smoke and gass" coming from that area of the world so there is always a possibility there is intelligent life somewhere close to that particular area - but I actually doubt it heh heh heh
...*grins* and waits.....

No, I was pointing out that when there is something that cannot be explained, it is either ignored or just turned into a joke.
And right now MsDink is doing the exact thing, because she is scared. She knows that what Sambo and Fireball said is true, she is just too frightened to admit it, so she turns it into a joke. I wish MsDink to prove that there is no intelligent life on other planets. Until she has done that, I shall go with what is much much much much MUCH more likely.

Intellegent life. Incapable of intergalactic communication or travel. Incapable of attacking or traversing a system near planet Earth... or are they capable but benevolent, merciful; perhaps amused or enchanted by our pettiness? If the Earth was indeed millions of years old, there is a fairly high chance that we have had visitors from without... in fact earth has hundreds, even thousands of "intergalactic" visitors every night - most are burnt up in the atmosphere.
So are you saying that America didn't exist before Comlumbus? What about the natives that lived there? The same goes for extraterrestrial worlds. You might not believe that so many planets exist, but on one of those planets there might be intelligent life that is certainly aware of its own existence, so you can't just say it doesn't exist because no-one has seen it. You don't know who has or hasn't, or what has or hasn't seen it.
No, what she is saying is that America still doesn't exist.
Fair enough, all those people in Hiroshima died of natural causes.

Now now, let's not get heated. We don't want to go proving Godwin's Law.

heh heh there we go... play nice now
Are you comparing me to Hitler?
I all was find the topic of alien life scary....and for some reason seeing schnapps post makes me calm down
where as fireball your post makes me want to scream
where as fireball your post makes me want to scream
I find it much more likely that if alien life was to find us, or the otherwise around, it would be the aliens that should be scared of us.
