WARNING: This D-Mod contains fictional information about certain religious figures and events in different cultures and religions. If you get easily insulted by these types of things, you should probably leave this thread. Also, this D-Mod contains massive amount of violence, blood, theistic Satanism, drugs, sexual content, and has a very dark atmosphere which can cause depression. So I'd suggest you to leave this thread right now, if you are under the age of thirteen, or are just a pessimist.
But because you obviously don't care about that crap, just read on.

The third instalment in the Middle Night -saga, takes place 11 years after the events of the second game. You play as a former Cast soldier, Robin, who has been sent into the Cast Prisons for giving out details about their trading business. After nearly 4 months of being imprisoned, the world is suddenly fading into dark clouds and fiery explosions. Robin manages to escape, only to fall down into a huge, futuristic laboratory complex, known as The Dark Phoenix, which in the past was used to control the old house of Jacobs'.

What is the true meaning of The Dark Phoenix? Who or what is the Middle Night? What will happen to Robin? And will the Fourth World be doomed to reveal a new, Fifth World? Find out in The Dark Phoenix's Middle Night!

Progress: I am around forty percent through completing this. I still need some graphics, create around next half of the map. The story is pretty much finished. No scripts have been created yet.

I need someone who has skill and time to create MIDIs, to create a totally original soundtrack for Middle Night 3! Please inform me if you are capable and willing to do this for me!

Size: Long Romp or short Quest.

Interesting, very interesting. A bit odd that you're ~40% done but haven't begun scripting yet. Where do people get their measuring devices?

Sounds very interesting. I really like the not chronological way that you tell/play through the story in the first two D-Mods. I hope this third part will also have some flashbacks to the past to reveal more information. I'm really curious to find out who or what this Middle Night really is.

Not much has been done recently. Did a little bit work on the map, but nothing too big. Have two other big D-Mod projects going on at the moment, and all sorts of otha' stuff. Anyway, hopefully I'll get this done soon. If you want to motivate me, you can, for example, write some reviews for the other two previous games.

As you have probably guessed, this has been dumped for time being. It may become the very first (and only) D-Mod that I have seriously advertised, yet maybe will never complete. Shouldn't have made this thread so early, heh. Anyway, I haven't completely given up on this. It's just that I am burned out. I've been very busy, and on any possible computer time that I have, I've mostly focused on making videos and creating HH 2. The storyline of this one has my head spinning, it has such a dark atmosphere it really depresses me to the point I just want to delete the whole D-Mod folder. It also hasn't turned out the way I wanted it. For instance, the gameplay has fighting, which I really never invented the Middle Night -series for. And I am afraid it will be a huge disappointment if it doesn't have the things in it that made people like the first two. So yeah, it's not in any progress currently. Maybe after HH 2 is finished.

I just decided to give this update at long last, since I was browsing through my D-Mods and noticed this one there. So I finally remembered to post this.

When you decide to get back on track with this project, let me know and I could be of help with the custom music. I've been waiting a chance to sit down and compose music for a horror-themed game of some sort, so this could be it. Also, trying to finish up the last part of a trilogy is never easy. You'll have to discard some ideas, maybe, that you originally planned to include but can't find time or a way to implent, and you can't just tell yourself you'll be including them in a sequel, no matter how cool those features might happen to be.

I liked playing through the first two parts since I felt they were trying to convey in a genuine way the spirit of a horror adventure - while keeping mind Dink's default graphics aren't exactly horror-like, if this makes sense at all. Hopefully you've learned of the shortcomings they had - some dialogue problems coupled with somewhat messy mapping and hardness errors on the top of my head - but I agree we're only doing this for a hobby as long as it's fun, and overcomplicating things rarely is. Hopefully you'll find some time to finish this project and I'll be looking forward to it!
