New D-Mod: Historical Hero
The latest poll is 'most anticipated D-Mod this year' and then two of them are released on the same day!
This one is Skull's Historical Hero, actually the first epic sized D-Mod released since 2004!
Go download all 38MB of it and start playing

Both of them completed in less than a year, too. Truly a day of miracles...
Whatever happend to the testing?
Anyway, I'll play and maybe review later

Aural+ it's an addon to DInk smallwood that allows you to play MP3 musics as well as fixing the problems with the lag when you enter to the another screen with diffrent midi.
It's a file that loads the MIDI music much faster and can play MP3 on Dink. You should find a thread about it on the stickies, if not, try to go to the "Interesting Links" on the stickies and you should find it.
EDIT: Dammit, Kenji beat me to it!

Skull did not listen when I told him where to upload it to for testing...
Enjoy your bugs.

Dude, what's wrong with you today?
First, you told me where to post it 3 hours after I uploaded it.
Second, I couldn't have uploaded it, because it was too big anyways.

Sorry, just woke up I scroll through forum threads from the bottom blue link to the top one below the stickety'd threads as I clear them from Unread.
And you could have. 4shared lets up upload a file up to 200mb in size.

What is this? I don't even...
Will play it after people are done with bug hunting.

Play mine until then, Glenn
Everyone else will play HH first *sigh*

No, I downloaded and played your D-Mod before mine, Iplaydink.
That's to kind of you Skull
Anyway, started playing this and I got killed by a pillbug in one hit which made my health go down half the way backwards, was that intended?

Uh... only advise I can give you is try harder actually. I promise, this one isn't an impossible fighting D-Mod like some of my previous ones lol.
AND SAVE BEFORE YOU ENTER THE MAZE!!
EDIT - Also, after seeing the screenshot, that health bug is actually in no way able to change for me. It\s really weird.

Buut why do the health go down backwards and make you die at half you health, anyone else have the same problem? I tried again, same thing O.o
It doesnt make you die at half health, but it screws up the graphic. See my last post.
I see. You have commented out &life = &lifemax; in start-1, that's the problem.
No, it hasn't been commented out for me. Strange though that Rob never said anything about this. And he apparently got owned quite much in my D-Mod lol.
//stats go when the game begins. Also, Dink starts with 10 LifeMax //(hit points). &strength = 1; &defense = 1; &magic = 1; &gold = 1; &lifemax = 5; //&life = &lifemax; &level = 1;
The script looks like this (scroll down).
Change it to this in next version

EDIT:
Anyway, Really nice cut-scenes and things. Me Like
Nice D-Mod! I hope I can finish it in time for the RRR.
Is the next RRR the download of the year?
The RRR is held after each quarter (so in january, april, july and october).
The DOTY will he held later this week, probably.

I just started playing this and I guess I'll be ready to review it in a week or so. I'm curious about one thing though, why in the world does the end of the intro show you the basic controls? It's not like anyone is stupid enough to forget them. Even if it is necessary to let the player know about the controls it's probably better to show them in the file description just like the original Dink Smallwood.
I just knew it would be Erwin and nobody else to be the first one that would complain about that.
This is better than I expected - Nor have I come across any bugs yet.
Lacks polish though... depth errors are really easy to fix and it makes your d-mod look sloppy if you leave them in. There were a few in iplaydink's d-mod as well. In fact, they seem rife in most d-mods.

Hehe I'm like that. Now tell me why you did it!

Don't worry about that, Sabretrout. It makes us D-Modders who map propperly stand out.

I don't know. Just so the game is player-friendly. I probably should include a choice whether to show all that stuff or not, in the next version.
EDIT: And those depth errors, I apparently didn't fix them in the first village, oh well.

I think it's pretty pointless to have it in your D-Mod but it's not a problem of any kind so do whatever you want with it.
Also it's probably better to wait just 100 miliseconds between regular sentences since waiting a little extra can get annoying, especially if you want to skip a conversation for some reason.
EDIT: Am I annoying yet?

Really, if you don't understand the basic controls after playing the main game, you're too stupid to play DMODs. The likelihood of someone playing your DMOD before they play the main game is... Small.
