Love! True love!
Yep, I'm still working on it. Schools out now, so I'll have more time. I've only been able to work on my masterpiece about a couple hours a week, because my math teacher insists that if you don't have carpel tunnel, she's not giving out enough homework. But, on to the juicy stuff.

Tell me what you think.

Progression: Can percents be in the negative? No? Nevermind then.

I have several good ideas for this, but I'm not sure which ones I want to use. Let's get the basics out in the open first.

Dink was just chillin' in his hut, when he a guard comes to his house and tells him the King has urgent news about Space Station Delta. A cutscene, and intro, and then Dink is in Space Station Delta. You then find out that things are not as they seem on Space Station Delta.....
Anyway, you get things straightened on Delta, but then you find out that the source of this problem is coming from the Badlands, an uncharted region of Space. Your journey begins as soon as you leave Delta.

Now for the spaceships.
While you are making your way to the Badlands, you will come across many towns and areas. You can only reach these areas via Spaceship, or the costly teleporter.
The spaceships will act like the transforming ability in POTA. You walk up to one, examine it, and your graphics will switch to that of a spaceship. While inside the spaceship, you can travel through previously inaccessible. Namely, space. I haven't come up with a way to create weapons for the ship, but if I do, I will add enemy ships to the ship areas. Don't get your hopes up, though. Anyway, while we're on the topic of vehicles, there is another one. The Rover. The Rover has no weapons, and it can only be used on planets. Not Stations, not space. It increases your speed considerably. That's about it for vehicles.

Getting a bit more into the towns and areas, there are 3 main planets. Talan, which is an Earth like planet, Earth, which is a Talan like planet (hehe), and Planet-X. No, the X is not the name. I haven't decided on a name for it. And, if mapping allows, each planet will have a few towns. Earth is only a story related area. The only times you will be on Earth is the beginning cutscene and the final cutscene, or if you really wanted to see what 2500 Earth looked like (notice how I used the word 'hut' earlier), you could go there via spaceship or teleporter. Talan will be the main planet which you inhabit for most of the storyline, with Planet-X being related to the Badlands, and the final boss area. Anyway, I mentioned the teleporter earlier. I may have not been clear enough earlier. The Spaceships are a small amount of gold the first time, and after you get your Inter Galactic license, they are free. Spaceships can only get you from PLANET to PLANET. Not TOWN to TOWN. Rovers are for Town to Town.
Anyway, teleporters do both. Very expensive, but if you're loaded and don't want to risk being jumped by space bandits (more appropriate name will come later), you can take the cheap way out and warp to Talan. There is a catch, though. Teleporters only activate when you reach there area. I.E the Earth teleporter is always open, Talan's opens as soon as you leave Space Station Delta, and Planet-X's teleporter only opens once you get through the Badlands and to The Gate, where you must endure the final leg of the Badlands on the ship Maelstrom...
Anyway, there is one final thing I would like to talk about. When you get in vehicles, I'm experimenting with a way to replace the GOLD spot on the status bar, with an exact replica of the health bar only blue, simulating shields. More on that as it develops.
And so, here ends this wall of text. I will add more as I work on it.

EDIT: If my unorganized projection of this is to unorganized for you, tell me and I will try to straighten it out.
