The difference is that's baseless, while assuming Milder didn't do everything he did in a day makes sense.
Having Dink eat and sleep in the game to show that time passes would be boring and pointless, so it doesn't happen. If you don't like the idea of time moving without fade downs and lullabies, the game doesn't make sense. The king returns from abroad five minutes after he left, the rocks blocking Kernsin, bridge to Windemere, get fixed in the blink of an eye. Etc.
