Geed in the rogue camp says "All my wares are guaranteed for life, and come with a two-day warranty." I don't laugh a lot at it, but it is obviously meant to be funny, or even more to underline the dishonest nature of the character.

Alkor the alchemist in Act III is really funny.

But I have to agree the game is remarkably pompous to the ironic.

I agree the gameplay is simple, but I do not agree that it gets boring quickly. Maybe I am more a fan than most, of killing and bloodshed... Actually it feels, however, like the main motive of playing is the levelling, a feeling that Diablo is good at keeping alive.

Diablo II is old, but the graphics are timeless. It also works technically well on new Windows versions, which further lengthens its longevity.
