I disagree. I think someone will be happy if they've been working towards an award, they have a right to be proud of their achievements. It's one thing to enjoy learning, be good at it and also aim for an award or whatever, it's a whole new level to just learn for the sake of learning and ignore the, um, can't think of a good word.

Why hide your happiness? I can see it might look like boasting if you shout about it everywhere, but to be happy and proud is to be expected IMO.
