The Dink Network

In this version, I get into the mines in the area with three grey boncas and a brown one. The screen immediately to the east includes a dead or dying man who had given a note leading to the currator's house and the fire magic. In case this is what you mean, going back to him yields no additional note or magic and going back to the currator's house doesn't help either. There is also no slayer on the island except for in the mines. Can someone please tell me where to get he water magic in this version?
