Then go and talk to Jack who lives somewhere in the mid-west of the town and ask about the scroll. There is a wizard in the south west corner. Now you should be able to talk to him. He will give you the fireball spell and the longsword. In the south east corner of the town, an underground path opens where the tree of Jade is located. Kill the slayer and take the scroll. Now the stones blocking your way out of the village disappears and the path is open.
