Silly me. The style of music is usually labeled as "Americana". A sort of cross of country rock and folk. The solo stuff has most often been compared to Cat Stevens. If you follow the links on the merchandise page to cdbaby you can sample many of the songs. I hope this isn't in violation of the rules here..If so, delete it and spank me hard.
