Ok, this is very weird. In the version I installed, it works without a black background.
If I dir.ff the graphics/sitems/ bmp files, I see the same behavior. But I can't find any explanation for it... I thought maybe the palette of the oars had mixed the black and white colors, but it's the same as the regular Dink graphics and other graphics in that sequence. I'm stumped. I'll continue looking into it, though.
Oh, and the 'WHITE' keyword doesn't do anything. Dink only recognizes the 'BLACK', LEFTALIGN, and NOTANIM dink.ini keywords.
