Reply to Hardness problem

I have a problem with Hardness. I mean when I edit dink(the main game) in windinkedit there is a yellow hardness surrounding a house for example. It is very accurate. But I can't seem to find out how to do that kind of hardness. The only hardness I have access to is the square one.
