I DO get your point Josh, and I can see where you are coming from. But while the corporate machine benefits (and also exploits), I would blame people, not clothes with brands.
In England, we have a good term for these people : Townies. Strutting around in their Nike trainers, Adidas trousers (occasionally tucked into their football socks), puffer jackets and baseball caps, they are menace to all society.
The Anti-Goth, if you will.
