LOOK UPON MY DEFORMED FACE!
It should be identical across platforms. You can see which packages are used in various distros here but all of them are 109.6 except for FreeBSD and old Ubuntu 18.04 which use 108.4 by default. I tried the save file on macOS under 109.6 and the same thing is exhibited there with endless "unknown var &val1" errors due to dc-f.c. I have a feeling we're dealing with something deep here such as a 64-bit portability problem.

Edit: I was right. I loaded up a VM of Debian i386 with Freedink and it seems the tile puzzle works perfectly!
