If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Why does it have to be on steam? Why not just release it on Steam AND GOG.com for free. That way if the Steam servers gets shutted down (Which IS a possibility) or gets DDOS'ed, it's a bye-bye to your library, i am aware of Offline mode but the thing is, you need to verify the files in online mode to play! Besides, such an old game really deserves to be at GOG.com as Valve does not give a single duck about a modern PC compatibility for older games (See Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2).
