Well maybe not if you've played a lot of games like this (a.k.a Zelda) but if you're new to gaming you could do that sort of things wrong..

True. You could add an "easy" mode for it, but I wouldn't give it away for most players. It's fine to think hard about it, and if you can't come up with the answer, you can always check a walkthrough.

also those of languages where you read from right to left might have some problems... i think... maybe?

I think people who speak those languages are used to these things. And also, there's no problem with trying something that doesn't work.

Have you played it, Shevek?

I haven't played Zelda, but I have indeed played many games like it. I did play three amulets. When I first read this question I couldn't even remember the puzzle, because it was so easy I forgot it. It's just a note saying "this is the order" and Dink should do what he always does (punch) in that order. I solved it without thinking (and without remembering well).

But isn't this the dmod with the boss monster where all the spikers keep entering the room, with the wall that protects him? Now that was a challenge (first to find out how to hurt it, and then to actually beat it).
