This is indeed a frequent, and at this point, a pretty tired question. 
It's even been discussed on this board several times.
To me the main draw in these games is exploration, and Morrowind was much better in that regard... TES5 seems to be taking the same less-than-fantastic approach as Oblivion (enter The Rural Norway Hiking Simulator).
