If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
My DVD player and PS3 turn themself on every now and then (especially when it's night) but I think the DVD player just makes some kind of "Updates" since it shuts down immediately after a few beebs, and even the lightest wind could set PS3 on if you forget to shut it from the back.
