Yes, Novashell is pretty complicated. I tried to make a simple scene with it once. It turned out pretty hard, but I did get the scene done and I gotta say
that the quality was much better than with regular Dink style.
But it's better that you use WinDinkEdit Plus, since you're a new to DinkC.
