My friend and I is writing a book.
currently on page 2000 and epic fantasy series >_< work has been done on it for 1 year so far
WHAT THE HELL?! Who's gonna read a book with 2000 pages!?...oh wait. Tal would enjoy it since he's like a Chuck Norris on Dink Network.
Yeah, it's not that unreasonable.
I'd say that it can work, too, if it stays interesting and relevant. Too many books just sort of wander away, focusing on subplots or extending events to unreasonable lengths, until you forget even what the overall plot was about.
But 2000 pages in a year?! That's insane. Even if you wrote the book every day, it's still more than 5 pages a day.

-Mosby's Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Dictionary has 1,854 pages (sans appendices)
-The 1975 Oxford's Concise Dictionary of the English Language has 1,368 pages (Appendices included)
- Lord of the Rings hardcover 1,216
