YouTube Videos in HD Quality Trick!
Trick? If videos are no longer uploaded in a super compressed format, I think this is rather an upcoming feature of YT. It obviously won't work on videos that were uploaded in low quality too, of course.
A lot of videos have a link now "watch in high quality" so using &fmt=18 is often unnecessary, if it even helps (as DaVince said).
Well that messes up all the video's I've uploaded over the years then, doesn't it?
At least it ought to help with the recent ones and upcoming ones

Actually, that 'trick' does work for SOME videos that don't have the watch in high quality link, so it is not completely unnecessary. I have over 300 videos on youtube and a lot of them don't have the link to watch them in high quality, putting &fmt=18 helps for some of them.
Exacly...Even animes are looking better! Link
And of video's uploaded years ago?
Dunno, I don't have any videos that were uploaded years ago.

It definitely works, but the quality is far from HD. HD is 720p and up (or 576p, to some), and Youtube video's, even in high quality, are certainly no better than 480i.
Well, I happen to have an account on Youtube with video's uploaded a long time ago. Take this for an example from my account. I have the link, but I can't view video's on this computer. The internet just freezes when I try to load a Youtube vid.
