what to do next?

hello, I am in Terris. I got a long sword and I am at level 4. I can't beat up the aunt's husband, don't know what to do with the flat next to their house, can't find mary. could I do any of them at the moment? also, the pub was mentioned in the forum, what could you do in it? do I need to do anything with the castle? I can't get pass the two fire post next to the castle either.
but i did find a staircase that lead me to monsters which i use to level up. i did saw a monster on a cliff but can't hit it.
I also failed to save the guy that doesn't give gold to the guard just before I come to Terris. does that matter?

Have you saved the guy in that cave? If yes, head to the forest nortwest of GoodHeart castle, if not, check out the houses in Terris to find someone who will teach you magic.

where could i find 'guy in the cave' in Terris? The one that I beat purple monsters in was a stircase to underground. do i need to bomb the entrance of which the king sealed? I saw the house above the castle with no one inside?

also, i bought the boots. in the same area near the sea, you could see the treasure on the opposite but I can't walk through water?
also i saw the ape like being on top of the mountain next to the house above the castle, what to do?
before i got into terris i was beating the bugs. but i can't reach the ones on the slopes, could i do that?
what about the stones for KSin? i can't move them and the stone on the east of the herbal boot place?

That's the place, the guy is actually just right of the first screen with the two purple boncas, you proably missed it.
As for the rocks blocking the road to KernSin, they're just a really crude way to limit you from getting there before a certain point in the story... The whole game is straightforward like that, it's usually made pretty obvious where you're supposed to go next.
