The Dink Network

I will quit bugging you guys, promise. But I can't get world 2 to start. I have copied & pasted the map & dink dats as directed. The game starts with the duck, yadda yadda, then I am on the plateau & hardly anyone will talk to me. Is this where I'm supposed to be? I have been in & out of every northern screen 3 to 6 times (the walkthrough says the guy will appear after you enter the screen 3 times), nothing. Now what? If I have to do something technical, keep it in layman's terms, please. Thanks

You should be not on the Plateu, but on the small brown colored island with one house and some pillbugs. Did you start the game or continue it from the saved one?

I continued it from the same one. Should I have restarted?

DOH!! Nevermind, I figured it out. A true blond moment there. lol. It never fails that you figure it out AFTER you have asked for help. Thanks a bunch.

I had this same problem. I ran around forever, saved, then realized that I had foobar'd the map copying process. I copyied it just fine, just not in the LOT dir, but the:
my downloaded dmods dir where I first save the dmods. What a dope. SO, my save is jacked because I start off in some crazy ass in the middle of the water area. Anyone know how to tweak the SAVE.DAT file to fix my &player_map variable?
