Well I have tried this several times now and after I give the guy the artifact from the underground dungeon.....go through the open fence and within 2 minutes no matter what direction I go the computer freezes solid, not just the screen, I have to reboot the computer which then scans and blah blah blah..... obviously can't play any further with this happening. Any patches for this, I can't seem to find anything. The only thing I can find is perhaps there are too many things on the screen at once, which there really is. Any help here would be appreciated, the game is awesome thus far.

Did you ever get your problem fixed? I'm having exactly the same one. I hate to have to stop after getting this far. Anybody have a "fix" for this?
Thanks,
Shane

Well, here's some more specifics on what my bright blue screen is telling me. It says that there is a problem with this file: swmidi.sys Specifically the error is: Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area
Now, I have no idea what that means. I found the swmidi.sys file in 2 places on my computer but I didn't know what to do with it. One was in my winddow dir and the other was in a I386 directory.
Anybody have any clue?
Thanks,
Shane

I was having the same problem. Any chance you two are using windows xp? If so, change the compatibility mode to "Windows 98 / Windows Me". If you're not familiar with how this works, right click the shortcut to Dink FrontEnd Icon, then the compatibility tab, then check the "Run This Program in Compatibility Mode for:" box and in the scroll down menu choose Win98/Me. Hopefully this helps you out, and you can finally finish the mod!

That's a sound card driver. When you posted that, I tried running the DMOD with sound disabled. It worked...so, I guess you have to disable sound if you are going through the forest, then once you are through you can use the Save Machine at the end to save, then restart with sound enabled.

I had the same problem, even with sound disabled.
I solved it by downloading the oofficial patch for Dink.
