Okay, so this is technically my first post regarding my soon to be made Let's Play a Dmod video, so here's what has happened so far.

My first attempt at recording the LP for Chores went well up until the end. Eventually the recording just wouldnt stop lagging, the FPS display showing 2-6FPS, a RIDICULOUS speed to be recording at, so I cut the slowest part off of what I had for Part One.

This of course was just one of the problems. My second problem so far is that the Voice recording on what I had saved so far somehow screwed up the volume of the entire recording file, and there's no way I can fix it. Trust me, I've tried.

At this time, those of you who've visited our fabled IRC Channel (Chat button at the top of the page) may know of the topic saying I'd release an LP soon, unfortunately that's looking pretty unrealistic. It'll take me at least another week to sort out why the recording won't speed back up, the game slows down every time I try to record now. It's NOT fun taking 20 seconds to get from one end of a screen to the next.

More news on this project coming soon.

Hmm...this is just a newb-guess, but have you tried lowering your hardware acceleration? I had to do that once to speed up one of my recordings...

You feed the madness, and it feeds on you.
I had similar problems when I started recording but that was due to the crappy screen recorder I was using. I started using Camtasia Studio instead and it worked fine.
If your using a screen recorder that you know is supposed to work well, than I don't think I can offer any advice as to what would cause that.
Maybe the problem lies with the codec your using to compress the captured video... Or the settings in your screen recorder software?
.... really not sure though.

I'm using Fraps, and Fraps works fine with almost everything. Not sure how it would be the codec, but I'll check it out if I can. Using the Combined Community Codec Pack.

I'll continue investigating, but Fraps is working fine for recording from other programs so far. Take the Battlezone 2 video I made recently for example.
