Day of the Carcass
>>>Teaser<<<
Day of the Carcass is a D-Mod that was originally meant for the DDC contest. It was suposed to be a simple romp... and it's turning out to be a big, action packed and full of new stuff killer D-Mod. Even though I horribly failed at achieving my goal of creating just something simple I don't give up, in fact I'm on fire when it comes to finishing this D-Mod.
----Story----
In one of Dink's adventures Dink met a young woman called Christine. Christine was very skilled in the ways of magic. Dink and Christine got along very well and got married. They managed to find a nice and peaceful place to settle down. They got two children, a son named David and a daughter named Nadine. Though times were peaceful Dink and Christine trained their children to be good fighters. David and Nadine are now 15 years old and on one of their regular days in the woods they end up finding out about an old threat...
You'll be playing as Nadine and you'll be accompanied throughout the D-Mod by David. David is computer controlled and able to dodge enemy attacks. You can tell David to attack a random target (A) or follow you (D). You also control David's skills (Q - Shadow Stab, W - Shadow Shock, E - Drain Life and F - David's Ultimate), he won't use them automatically. David can use his sword or his hyper boots (hyper boots are useful for dodging attacks from creatures with long range such as slayers.)(You can make him switch weapons with Z and X) You can use elixirs that you keep in your inventory for yourself but you can make David use them as well (C). You can also control his movements if you really want to (Home - up, End - down, Delete - left, Page Down - right, Insert - let David move freely again.). You can also view David's stats (S).
----Skills----
Skills cost mana. You'll start with 5000 mana and you will gain more once you level or pick up big blue hearts. Mana will regenerate over time. Increasing your magic will increase your mana regeneration. Both David and Nadine have an ultimate skill that combines all of their skills.
---Nadine's skills---
Nadine is skilled in the ways of the bow and won't be using any other weapons; she doesn’t need to anyway since she uses a powerful magical bow.
Fire Arrow: Imbues your shots with the destructive power of fire. Deals 15 additional damage. Costs 750 mana.
Ice Arrow: Instils your shots with the power of a freezing wind. Deals 5 additional damage and slows down your enemy for 15 seconds. Costs 850 mana.
Triple Shot: Let's loose 3 arrows instead of just 1 for thrice the pain. Costs 1000 mana.
--Passive skills--
Power Shot: Has a 50% chance of enhancing your shot with triple damage.
Pierce Shot: Has a 33% chance of making your shot pierce your enemies.
Power Pierce Shot: When both Power Shot and Pierce Shot occur your shots will deal triple damage and pierce your enemies.
--Ultimate--
Nadine's ultimate combines all of her skills in an instant shot of mass destruction. Basically this means that she'll fire 3 arrows that each deal massive damage, slow your enemies (if they survive) and pierce trough them. An Ultimate requires all of your mana. The more mana you have the more damage the Ultimate does.
---David's Skills---
David uses a magical sword that appears when he attacks with it. He can also use his father’s herb boots.
Shadow Slash: Instantly teleports you to your target, slash it and teleport back. Deals 10 additional damage. Costs 750 mana.
Shadow Shock: Creates a shockwave around you that harms your enemies. Deals 15 damage. Costs 1000 mana.
Drain Life: Drains life from your target and shares it between David and Nadine. Deals 10 damage and gives 10 life. Costs 850 mana.
--Ultimate--
David’s ultimate combines all of his skills and unleashes their powers in an instant. Basically this means that he’ll teleport to his target, slash it, create a shockwave around him dealing massive damage, restore his own and Nadine’s health completely and teleport back. An Ultimate requires all of your mana. The more mana you have the more damage the Ultimate does.
Day of the Carcass will also contain plenty of other new things for you to enjoy but for that you’ll have to wait a little while. I will release a demo within the next two months.

does this mean i get partial credit for the dmods existence, lol
Yep. If it wasn't for your contest I would probably never have made this D-Mod.
Looks great, can't wait!
Some inspiration from WoW? Reminds me strongly of Hunters

This Dmod looks awesome.
Ownage Point to Erwin. *
Whatever an ownage point is.
The trailer is also awesome.
* When Ownage Point is declared it is the creator of the event, piece of art or still life object (reffered to as 'item' from here-on) that actually receives the Ownage Point, not the item itself. Ownage Point is given with assumption that the item responsible for the person receiving the ownage point will be released. If for any reason the recipient of the Ownage Point does not complete the item, that person may be subject to losing their Ownage Point. There is no scientific or SI unit for measuring ownage, so it cannot be stated mathematically how ownage a specific Ownage Point is. Ownage Points can only be measured by comparison to other Ownage Points and using the comparative adjective form.
Batteries not included.

My inspiration for Nadine's skills came from the Amazon from Diablo II.
Ooh an ownage point. I had better release this soon!

I've been making some good progress lately. I'll release a demo of it in December.
I will release a demo within the next two months.
I know what I've said before... I'm serious this time. If I can't get the demo ready for December I suck!

Cool. I want to play. Where is the file"
I've been spending all of my spare time on this D-mod in the last couple of days and I'm pleased to say that the demo is ready and I've just uploaded it. Expect to see an update in the near future because there are probably quite a couple of things left to improve or to fix. Already now I realise that I've forgot to make the midi for the boss in this demo loop and that I forgot to remove a key script which activates the console which I used for testing. Oh well I bet there are no big problems in this version. I'm just glad I managed to release it this year
I hope you'll all enjoy!

When you gotta necro you better do it right. And what's a better way to necro a thread than with a new D-Mod?
It is generally accepted if an author of a preview thread revives this thread with new information. Actually this is strongly preferred over making a new thread for each announcement.
Also, great news about the demo.
