Revenge of the Ducks

You are Ronan the Duck and you must kill the hunter.

Storyline: Very nice for such a small D-mod. The hunter kills lots of ducks and Ronan is chosen by the council of Ducks to defeat the hunter. In order to do that he first must undergo a test to prove his strengths, so as to get some more power so he can defeat the hunter.

Map and graphics: No new graphics, apart from the title screen, which are not that good. The map is quite empty.

Music: The music is good and sets the mood for this small adventure.

Good: There even is a secret in this game. The way the author solved the problem that ducks can not use weapons, is good. The intro movie is done real nice, and has some good humour in it. The rest of the D-mod has its fair share of humour too. It is fun to play a duck.

Not so good: The map seems a bit too big for this small adventure, since there is nothing to do in the open spaces. Once you have your new weapon, the gameplay is too easy; there are only two enemies to kill, and nothing else can be done. There are no hints given to indicate the secret area, but, then again, with the weapon it should not be very hard to figure that out.

Overall: A well worked out D-mod.

Fit for: If you want to play an easy and very small, yet entertaining D-mod.

Revenge of the Ducks 1

When you run the d-mod you are immediately served with a sober menu and the normal options to choose from.
Afterwards, after clicking the start game button, a small intro starts, explaining the simple objectives of the d-mod. Normally I wouldn't say too much about the story but in this case I have no other choice than to fill you in on the complete storyline.
It seems that a hunter is killing all the ducks in the vicinity and when one of the duck's mother is killed, the counsil of ducks decides to act. They call upon the aid of Ronan the duck. A simple, weak, yet determined duck who's willing to accept his destiny as the hunterslayer. This is where the player starts his adventure.
Since you don't play as Dink in this d-mod but as the aclaimed duck Ronan, no additional weapons or spells have been created and you start out with no weapon at all (although the fist is equiped but for no reason). After a minute you'll receive your first and only spell.
In theory you can now fight the hunter and finish the game but it will turn out to be impossible to fight this evil man in your current state. Therefor, JVeenhof has put in a tiny secret, allowing you to boost your stats just enough to win. It will still prove to be quite an ordeal though and some strategy and use of the surroundings will be necessary to defeat the Hunter. I didn't find any bugs or abnormalities in this part but of course this game doesn't reach any high grounds due to its small size and limited options. But then again, it WAS only meant to be a small d-mod so people had at least one to play.

The game kicks butt on it's own way.

Story: Ronan the duck has been send on a quest by the Duck Council to defeat the Hunter who kills ducks. But before that he must pass a test to get a fireball as weapon.

Map: The map is fairly big for so short D-Mod. Maybe even too big. Also, there weren't enough details to keep you interested in the map.

Graphics: Same old RTSoft.

Gameplay: The gameplay is very easy and short. Well, this is a romp. There is one secret which is nice, but fairly odd, since, as I said, this IS a romp. The 2 enemies that there was (The Bonca and the Hunter) were too easy. The humour was good on this one, but it simply isn't enough.

Music: Can't remember very well, but I remember it being pretty standard.

Good: The story and gameplay were pretty good for so small Mod. Aswell, I remember the music being pretty standard. The humour was good too.

Bad: The map is too big, and too less detailed. Aswell, the enemies were too easy.

Overall: 6.5. The humour and story were good. But as I said, it just isn't enough.

Fit for: Anyone who looks for something to play to pass time.

This mod is very short not even 5 minutes of gameplay. There is not much to say about it. The writing is much like the main game. You get a fireball at the top of the screen and go down to the left and kill the human hunter. He moves pretty fast but all you need to do is circle around the house a few times and get him that way.

- From the ducks viewpoint
- Ducks get fireballs

- Short
- Nothing to do

Revenge of the Ducks by JVeenhof. You play as Ronan the duck.

Its one of the few d-mods which you can play as an alternate character.
It was very very funny. I really like comedy in a d-mod.

If you miss the secret the end boss can be impossible and if you do find it it can be really easy. There were no new graphics but i didnt mind that.

Overall a great and short d-mod that you can play over and over again and it will still be funny (in my opinion)

This game provided for a intresting romp. I liked the fact you could pay as a duck whitch is really intresting. The romp is basicly this, A hunter is killing all sorts of monsters and the ducks want to stop it. So they send ronan, a brave duck, to kill him. You then proccede to find a cave where you must defeat a bonca to gain fire magic. Now, after this you should beable to find and kill the hunter easaly. There is a secret in the game but it doesent help much. overall, fun and short worth a download. GO get it!

Revenge of the Ducks- very short, but funny DMOD. You play Ronan of Ducks, and you have to kill only 2 enemies in the game! It is for them, who just started to play dink Smallwood, because it is good train for Fireball shooting....

OK, now the graphics- nothing new, i can just say all of em: tree, ducks, bonca, dragon statue, cave, house where hunter lives, hunter and few more...

Sounds- well, everything is likein original Dink Smallwood... So no new sounds...

Plot: well, its to kill hunter , but it is easy, so it vould be really hard to die....

Playability: Altrought it is short DMOD, it has nice playability. (Actually, i dont even know, what is playability! !

And the ending- you have to download this DMOD bacause it has a lot of fun.....

I think it deserves 7.0

Although it is extremely small, it has a lot of fun.In this DMOD the main hero is Ronan the Duck, whose goal is to kill the Hunter.
Not a lot of enemies to kill (only 2!!!) so don't even think of getting levels in this DMOD. In order to kill the Hunter easily you have to find the secret area (that is one of the weaknesses of this DMOD-along with the size).
I found the storyline something more than satisfying and I was happy to see at last a bug-free DMOD (all the others I have played are full of bugs, maybe I'm just unlucky
This is a DMOD for newbies. You will finish it in a couple of minutes, but it's worth a try!

ok first of all this was a short dmod and a simple one.

there is 1 easy secret that if you are a noobie you need it.i skipped it at first and played again and found it.

one thing i found out but it wasnt a big deal is if you push against something you will turn into dink until you let go again

i gave this a 4 because it was really easy but the final fantasy 8 music i liked thats about it.

this was my 1st review!!!!!!

This DMOD was so easy, so short, so <>. Can't say i love this DMOD. You need to kill 2 enemys and that's it. Didn't find the secret the first time i played it, but like, who needs it!?!?!? If you need that secret to kill <THE AWFUL HUNTER> (my assss) then you gotta be a n00b! I killed him without being touched by him even once, and the hunter coud have some more hitpoints,i played ut the game in 2 minutes with 0 damage and 0 secrets, i really aint recommening this game, just if you need a little pratice to shoot with your magic and run.
