**grin**
The music at the start got me in a really good mood and the rest of the music kept it that way throughout the game (and that says a lot as I normally don't notice the music much).

I like the fact that a lot of things are scripted and with humour too.

Great use of graphics, the trees are gorgeous (great job Dan) and I also like the idea of the "paintings" on the wall. Very nicely laid out and detailed map !

Another *grin* for the fact that the pillbug boss as well as the end-slayer were smaller rather than larger for a change.

Gameplay is very well-balanced, even though the slimes above the church are at first quite hard, there are enough pillbugs to level up and enough gold to find so you need only to kill a few before you can buy yourself a sword after which the slimes are well within your skill.
Finding the secret island also helped.

Even though the plot/storyline is marginal (which I normally find very important) and there was a lot of *opportunity* for fighting, this *didn't* actually start to irritate me as the detailed map and great music kept me enjoying myself.

Could be improved:
* The start screen looks a bit awkward - as if a graphic from something else has been used and some info has been painted over a bit sloppely. (colours don't match)
* The english isn't very fluent.
* Hardness errors (for instance around the entrance of the sword salesman's house or walking through the slayer statue)
* No magic... even though you don't need it, I like to get some. (no double meaning intended)

Overall: very enjoyable little romp.
Looking forward to more work from this promising dmod author.
Excellent work for a first dmod.

P.S.: for some reason I expected the author to be female after playing this mod... looking at *his* profile I found that not to be true. Must be the proven eye for detail which got me to thinking this

Hmmm...!
This D-Mod was strange... I did't enjoy it.
Dink can't remember so you have to go around and find the plot on your own (I didn't find the plot).

Good: I like the tree's, and some part of the map was well done.

Bad: Gaaawh! I didn't like the music! Just annoying.
It didn't seemed like Astral had thought of how he should make this D-Mod, just put really many enemies on the map, and then you have to kill them. (Hmmm...!)

Overall: I didn't enjoy this D-Mod, and I think a new dinker shouldn't start with this... Take one with a real plot.

Beautiful graphics, lots of sparkle and shine, bright trees, a place you would like to walk through minus the bugs etc. Too many bugs but the bugs help you level up and they are kind of easy to kill. Nice fountains to drink from and restore your life. Lots of potions, one thing I miss is the fireball magic, I love that. I don't know if this game has it I can't get pass killing the slayer so I can cross the bridge.

Music is cheerful. I am up to level 8 with a claw sword and I tried several times to kill the slayer.

I am just about ready to turn in my sword on this one.

This D-Mod is just plain good all around! Its quite quite impressive for a beginner and Im glad it came out so well.

Pros:
-Well fit music.
-Combat thats often and simple yet not repetitive. Also, challenging, but frustratingly hard.
-Great character scripting. (A key to any good Dink Mod)

Cons:
-Nothing in particular.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

There's something in this dmod that makes it good, though it's not a great piece of work in any particular way. Though the music is only sometimes good, it thoroughly fits the dmod. The same goes for the other parts. ^__^ There's no new graphics.

Plot : At first you dont know what the plot is since dink cant read and you must find all the answers by yourselves Kill the pill bugs and the slimes and after that you must enter the bonca territory to kill the dangerous slayer.

grahpics : The was the same graphics as the original game

midis : the midis were good they fit the situation very well actually.

bugs : didnt find one

Nice dmod, especially for a first timer.
Good use of new graphics, nice scenery, music was ehhh... full of joy, and the gameplay was balanced though a bit thin.
The game gave me a happy feeling, and gave me the idea that Dink was pretty much stoned. dang.

GRAPHICS 7.2: New graphics (from other dmods) have been used nicely to create a nice scenery. Nice job.
SOUND 7: Although the music was not entirely to my liking it was happy and created a atmosphere of happy happy joy joy, which fitted with the overal feel of the game.
GAMEPLAY 7: Kinda hard to judge, because you don't do much in the mod, but I found the difficulty extremely balanced, and there was some (weird!) humour. I kinda liked it.
LASTING APPEAL 6: Not too big, and not really stuff that makes you come back for more. Could have been better.

TOTAL: 7.1

Nice little dmod, especially for a first timer. Looking forward to more dmods from Astral. Download it!

Well that wins the "not nearly so bad as I thought it would be award" for the year.

If you want a mod with very little instruction or plot and lots of fighting, then by all means, download this badboy. The bosses are interesting, especially the last one, and the fighting is challenging... perhaps too challenging. Also the amount of exp you get from opponents is unbalanced (slimes should be at least 25) and there are some minor, unimportant hardness bugs. Overall 8.1. The upshot is, I enjoyed it and it could have been so much worse.
