Purpose: To easily apply the Dink Palette to 256 colour graphics.

Installation: Just unzip the file and run the .exe programme.

Use: Open any graphic that has the Dink Palette applied to, and select the folder with the graphics that need the Dink Palette to be applied to.

Good: It is easy to install and works fine. It is way better then opening every graphic, applying the Dink Palette to it and then closing the graphic. That is a lot of work and this programme does that for you with only a couple of mouseclicks.

Not so good: It only works with .bmp files.

Overall: A good programme.

Fit for: If you have a large number of graphics that need the Dink Palette aplied to.

A program to convert to Dink's palette, and it does batch processing. Sounds very good. But for some reason the menus and stuff were in spanish and I got an error message (in Spanish) trying to use it.

I'd unzipped as instructed... oh well.

It seems you can convert to 256 colours from 16 mill even though the author says it is to convert a 256 coloured image. But as pointed out no error diffusion option (which is what I use in PSP). So not good.

Window display of each new palette based image didn't update cleanly.

With work this could be really good.

This utility allows the user to convert a mass amount of images to a 256 color palette in a matter of seconds. It works really fast and the user interface is quite simple and easy to understand.

In addition to using this utility to convert images to Dink's color palette, you can also use DinersPal to convert images to any 256 color palette of your choice. This could be very handy if you ever wanted to replace all Dink's graphics with ones you made yourself.

The only drawback I found with DinkersPal is that there is no option to select the method in which the 256 color palette is applied to your images. For example, Error Diffusion Dithering or Nearest Color Matching. This, in my humble opinion, is quite a big drawback because often an image will look really poor when using one method, but look perfectly fine using another.

In conclusion, I recommend this file to anyone who needs a good palette conversion utility. But since there is no method of color palette application option, I feel DinersPal rates only as "good". Let's hope the author includes it in the next version and I'll give it a perfect 10!
