What sound hardware do you use to play d-mod?
Like in theme i use headphones...It really fits to it, but when it's broken i turn on speakers and turn bass & treble MAXIMUM!
Home-made surround-sound speaker system. It's a mess with the cables though.
I've got a 2 speaker hifi system with a 2x100W amplifier. The speakers are old, really good quality hifi speakers but I've replaced the mid-range drivers with better ones as I want good sound quality especially for mixing and recording. Music sounds still really good, though

I have a giant 5.1 surround sound system with a big subwoofer thingy under the desk.
7.1 surround system. Someday I'll put the side and rear speakers on the walls where they belong.

A sound card.
...But seriously, the two built-in speakers in my laptop. I don't need to hear better sound for Dmods that only have MIDI music and low-to-medium quality samples, anyway.

Are you calling MIDI low quality? Oh, gosh, DaVince, either you're plain stupid, or you know nothing about MIDI. Or... you're just... different.
Earphones, because otherwise it's my laptop speakers. And I like earphones anyway.
Earphones give me a headache, and also I wouldn't hear the phone ring or anything. I have the sound card that is built into my computer (RealTrek....I think, something like that)
I just recently bought a Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty, and I'm quite impressed at the sound quality compared to my old SoundMax onboard card. I forgot what it was like to have a soundcard of actual quality.
I just use two cheap crappy speakers I got for $2 at a market. They work fine, and go up REALLY loud but when I do that it sound really retarded
SoundMAX audio card with a pair of Logitech RX50's.
@FB, religious sound. Hmm...

I know plenty about MIDI, more than most people anyway, and I'm glad I have some good soundfonts and a driver in Windows to have MIDIs at least sound decent instead of having the overly crappy sound produced by MS's Wavetable Synth.
Still, I don't usually bother to connect my stereo set to my PC for games that use MIDIs. I sometimes play these games using my headphones, but nothing more than that.
Also, here a sample of what soundfonts and alternative MIDI synths can do to your MIDIs:
Original MIDI file
MP3 Render using WinGroove
So, as you can see, I was calling MS's Software Synth low quality, not MIDIs themselves.

RealTek. RealTrek just makes it sound like some crappy TV series based on a certain SF series.
