For anyone like myself who has largely given up on Windows in favor of Linux, BSD, or some other Unix (but keeps a copy of Windows on some random computer just to play Dink), there's good news. The latest version of wine (see winehq.org) has finally overcome the image transparency problem that was the last apparent hurdle to Dink Smallwood fully working with wine. This is particularly welcome, since efforts to port Dink to systems other than Windows (see the Windemere project on sourceforge.net) have gone unmaintained for just over three years now.
Yay!
Yay!
That is good news indeed. I'll try to see how it works later today
(oh, a porting attempt that isn't dead is freeDink, in case you are interested in this kind of stuff).

That's great news. I use freedink too, but i can't play new dmods with it, because the v1.08 aren't implemented.
Yeah, the OP didn't do much research if he didn't find FreeDink, which is very much alive still.
Once all the quirks and bugs have been taken off the port, 1.08 stuff will be included. Don't expect anything any time soon, though.

Who is FreeDink run by, anyway? Is it anyone here, from the Dink Network?
Wow. Three cheers for him. He's the bloke who made the awesome DinkMines thing for the one screen D-Mod comp a while back, right?
