Creating D-mods
Do anybody knows some good tutorial for DinkC, which explain everything step by step, for example:how to create a sprite, how to make it talk, how to make it move, and so on... ?
I don't think it'd become much of a success, seeing as it's aimed quite personally (you) and there's a perfectly fine Dink community already.
Sorry to blow down the idea.

i thought that dink came with a dinkC tutorial? look in the develop directory where you installed dink
dink comes with dinkedit. i tried to follow tutor1 in develop but i stock, when i get to the step where i need to edit star 1- .c ( or something like that), notepad shows me some strange codes, so i quit following that tutor. anyway, thanks for help
Try this thread. It might prove quite helpful.
Are you absolutely positive you opened start-1.c and not start-1.d?
Yes .d files will show weird code, the .c files for the original game are stored in the source.zip in the development folder.

From that thread, The Rudiments of Scripting is very good for absolute beginners. It may be just what you need.
After having done The Rudiments of Scripting (or just before the end), you may want to try tut1.txt that is included with the game.
In the same folder as tut1.txt, look at source.zip. It has all the .c files of the original game.

Did you try The Rudiments of Scripting? I thought it was good.
The best way to learn is probably by looking through scripts in D-Mods and you'll see what everything does. I find CC2 and Initiation the best for that.
Another tip if you like: Use both DinkC reference v3.2 (comes with WDE+) and v4.0 (in develop folder). I cross-reference both because v3.2 can have a fuller description of what things do but v4.0 is more definitive, plus it says exactly what you can and can't do in 1.08.
Hope this helps

I tried The Rudiments of Scripting. Still, you need to know the basics ( that are not in that tutorial ), like creating sprite. I'm just afraid that there is no hope for me lol.
...How did my reply to another topic get over HERE?
Use the DinkC Reference file. If you are using vista, then you'll have to download an update from microsoft to restore help file functionality.
DinkC Ref. will give you decent examples of nearly every command and system variable.

In your Dink Smallwood > develop folder, there should be a text file called tut1 something.
