Which one to download.

I'm sorry... But I'm not sure which version I need to download, version 1.08 has a smaller filesize than version 1.06, but it says the version 1.07 beta 3 patch makes the game more compatible with Windows 2000/XP. I'm guessing since I have Win XP I should download the latest version, which would be 1.08, or should I download version 1.06 and then get the 1.07 beta 3 patch?
1.08 is the way to go, it's intensely better than the older versions.
Always get the latest version, because it's the newest version. And newer means that more bugs were fixed, more things were added... etcetera.
Dink 1.08 should have FANTASTIC XP support, where 1.07 only has a slight support improvement over 1.06.

1.08 is smaller because it uses better compression, and earlier versions included a 5 MB wav file that was never used in the game
'ey, don't say it like that. Say the previous versions had extra buffer, as the code was prone to exceeding it's space!
