I have just started playing this game and don't know how to feed the pigs. I scatter the feed ... but the mother keeps telling me to feed them. Now they have vanished... I think I may have killed them! Please help.

I killed the pigs too the first time I played it, but you can feed them anyway
Have you taken the pig-food? (If not it's up in the right corner of mother and Dink's house)
Then just press ENTER and press CTRL on the food, then press CTRL again so you feed them.

(I hope I didn't missunderstand you... I do that sometimes )

Scatter the feed from the inside of the peg, that should do the trick.

Sorry but I'm STILL having trouble feeding them. I scatter the food all over their pen...But they don't EAT it. The mother just keeps telling me to feed them.

They will never eat it, but if all goes well, you'll get a cutscene with Milder.

Go talk to people around the town. I remember she tells you to do that, mabye it will work?

Thanks for all the help....but I give up! There must be something wrong with my game. I've spoken to everyone and the mother just keeps telling me to FEED THE PIGS. I can't get past the guard and have returned the pet duck...can't see what else I can do.

After you've returned the pet duck, the mother is supposed to ask you to go find some alk tree nuts. Then the guard will disappear.

Possibly an error in the script?

Milder is supposed to show up and laugh at you and walk away. Try reloading the game that may help.

If you have returned the duck to the woman, you should have already fed the pigs. Maybe you fed them and then didn't see the cutscene? Now you should go talk to the woman again, either she will tell you that your mother was looking for you, or you must talk to everyone in town(talk to her first) and THEN go back to your house. Your mother should then tell you to go get some Alk tree nuts.

when done feeding the pigs, return to mom and say you're done feeding pigs. she asks you to go to the old hag. find her dang duck go home and then you must pick some nuts. that should get you there
