Mmmm, pizza.
Train your defense. Strenght will be handled by the sword. Also fill your inventory with healing potions

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
The health potions are the most important. For a reason that I won't reveal, the defense isn't so important(it's important against fireballs, but they easy to avoid).

Yeah, healing potions are pretty important. It's quite possible to defeat him without them, it's just very hard. Furthermore it's important to be a little patient (not too much though), so if the Scourger starts to count, get out of the way. And try to avoid everything that looks like it could hurt you (the flames).

Furthermore, I noticed that very early on in the battle there are far less flames, so try to strike him early on a few times. There was a good Dutch proverb about this...

I only know one.

If you use your friends, you won't have very many.

Somehow I don't think this one applies here.

The first blow is half the battle. That's the translation of that proverb according to my dictionary. A more literal translation would be: The first blow is worth a dollar.

The first blow is worth a dollar.

Eh, my first wasn't even worth that much, it was so disappointing.

Oh wait...

"The first blow is half the battle."

How come I didn't know that? Guess I'm not too good in proverbs, then.

But yours comes pretty close too.

Mine lead me to four children and 15 years traveling from happy to miserable.

We'll see if the next 15 continue on that path, or to a career in music.
