Hit Counters
Wouldn't it be cool if the Dink Network had hit counters for they're downloads??
Indeed. Especially since they are easy to implement them
I download by rating and review amount... Hit counters could give you false sense. You see a popular download, think: "Hey! I wanna play that too!" and then it turns out to be the worst dmod ever.
But we COULD implement it...

As well as that newer DMOD's will be downloaded more often...
I don't see the use really...

We used to have them.. in the 3D-Downloads age I think.. or was it Telefragged hmm
But anyway, all you could see was the counter because you never got your download

For some reason, I'm the only person who liked the 3D-Downloads. I never had any problems with them
No. But I did stay at a holiday inn last night.
No, it wouldn't be cool. Sorry.
Why? There are probably enough numbers and ego-boosting tools here to amuse anyone.

May I know what is being meant with "3D-downloads"?
3D Downloads was one of our former filehosts, when we were hosted by Telefragged several years ago. After that we moved to Gamespy/Fileplanet, and now we're basically independent.
For the record, 3D Downloads almost never worked for anyone.

Yeah... I could get an a connection with them maybe 30% of the time. The other times, I'd have to keep refreshing and hope it managed to connect.
The trick was just figure out where the file was, as they went to a new 6-number folder on the FTP server every 1-24 hours. The only hard part was resuming paused files. I never really learned how to resume interupted Ftp file tansfers.
