Hi, When I run DinkEdit.exe the title appears and after about 3 - 5 seconds, my computer reverts to the desktop, with a screwed-up palette and the topleft of my 800x600 screen being displayed in 640x320

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
Have you downloaded the 1.07 update? If not, click here.

Does the editor work when you try to edit a dmod from the dink front end? or the original game? (uncheck run with the following dmod box)

What OS are you using? I think I've experienced something similar before the v1.07 patch, so it might be copatibility problems...

Well, you COULD use WinDinkEdit to make your maps. I think it's even better than the original, too!

Actually, some people find WDE much easier to use. It might be worth giving it a try.

EDIT : Why isn't my angry smiley working?

Really? Yet the other smileys work the same? Ah well, who am I to question the ways of the DN?

Thanks Tal!

All smileys have :: alternatives. It wasn't really talked about, but because the less-than and greater-than characters are filtered differently for staff, it was a way for Angry, Evil, and Cat smilies to work for Staff.
