Here we go again...
So... even though I said otherwise, it seems to me that I chose to return. At least for now. I don't know if it's permanent, but at least I'm here again.
I don't know if I can contribute with anything, as I haven't played Dink for over a year now, and have no idea what goes on here now. Last time I really did check something thoroughly here was before I posted that message there. I've posted some messages since my good bye, but not many, and they weren't exactly often nor regular. Speaking of regular; I seem to have lost my status as a Super-Regular poster and I'm now just a Regular one. I doubt I ever reach Super-Regular again, and I'm content with that.
For some reason I feel that I haven't missed out anything spectacular, but just in case, if there's something unique that I have missed, could someone point it out to me? Such as Windemere being completed or DN G9 (I guess I would've seen that one, eh?) or whatever.
So... yay. I'm back.

Welcome back, fellow banana-obsessed dinker.
Someone named DinkKiller is angry at the staff because they didn't give him a uber poster for a day, and now he's swearing at them.

Not really, you probably 'missed' the DinkKiller flame about the stats.. the list-threads spam.. mmm, a few random D-Mods.. some new staff.. that's what I can recall now
But hey, welcome back!

But hey, welcome back!

Hey! Welcome back Phoenix! )
Did you see the phoenix graphics that simonk released? They're pretty.

Nope... it won't affect me in any way, though, since IIRC, redink1 said that one has to release a game with something to set it as user icons, so even though there are Phoenix graphics around, I can't use them, as they aren't mine.

Phoenix
Welcome back!! We are having a "Heat Wave" over here in eastern Canada. Carrie won a dmod of the month
and Striker has been emoting alot...

Ah, never tell anyone you'll probably never return. It makes you look silly if you do return after all.
Let's see what's happened since November '04:
* No major D-Mods have been released, since Initiation and Cloud Castle 2 (the last D-Mods that really got the community stirring) were released shortly before your "departure."
* The Dink Network has moved from the terrible RPGPlanet/Gamespy host to 1&1, which is linked on the left sidebar. So far, they have not given us any tremendous problems, like the sudden downtime of woe and despair from Gamespy or the miserable downloads system of Telefragged (anyone remember that?). Interestingly enough, though, Kyote (RPGPlanet's primary newsposter) still borrows news from this site and posts it from time to time, occasionally misinterpreting what we say. He may not have posted anything Dink-related in a few months, but currently the archive is down, so I am not able to verify that.
* Though this may be considered more of a personal thing than something strongly relevant to the Dink Network, redink1 was able to visit me for a week in December, marking another real-life encounter stemming from Dink.
* In January, SimonK scored an interview with Justin Martin, one of the members of the team behind Dink.
* ehasl chose to rerelease the ABCD D-Mod later in March, unaltered from its original form. Predictably, the response has been unfavorable.
* As you likely noticed due to it being covered in the most recent newspost, Striker and Merlin have been added to the staff, and one more person is being considered.
* Seth has announced a desire to publish a new update for Dink, version 1.08, but he has appointed the community with the construction of said update. (You can make suggestions for modifications/additions here.) redink1 and I are working on it, and if I'm not mistaken, Merlin is contributing as well (maybe I'm wrong?).
* Generation 9/Miasma 3 are still in production (but if I'm not mistaken, are currently on the backburner due to redink1's significant contribution to 1.08). They will probably see the light of day before the end of the year, though redink1 could probably give you a more definite statement on that. In addition, I'm still apparently going to become webmaster one of these days.

Thanks, Tal, highly informative.
Well, I don't feel silly, but I remember that back then, I did really feel that I'd never want to come back. For some reason, it just didn't make sense for me to stay; I hadn't been anywhere near active for a long time. My reason for staying was the chat room, which I eventually gave up, due to horrible attendance. (Same reason as all previous chat rooms on this place were given up.)
Well... I didn't leave until April, so I did catch that Justin Martin interview just fine, aye?
Nice that Dink's being updated... Dink sort of feels like IE 6 to me, full of errors, but not fixed since forever.
I don't have any suggestions for fixes, unfortunately. (Which stems from my not playing Dink since 2003 or so.)

But dink needs your great mind! You could give a lot for this modifying
It may have been posted in April, but your goodbye post dates back to November, and didn't say anything like "Well, I'm saying goodbye, but actually it'll take six months for me to leave." So of course I covered that.
D'oh. Of course... I forgot that my good bye was that early, and that my last post was that late... I mixed up... but yes, I actually caught that specific event, for some reason.
